Watermouth Castle
Watermouth Castle offers an excellent day out for all the family including a times-gone-by museum in the castle along with a dungeon labyrinth for those brave enough. Outside there is a theme park including a wide variety of rides, Gnome land, crazy golf, a maze and a colourful water show. More information can be found here.
Ilfracombe
Ilfracombe is a popular seaside town located a few miles from the Watermouth Lodge resort. Damien Hirst has recently installed a fabulous statue, Verity on the harbour front. The unusual Tunnels beach is worth a visit to see how the Victorians excavated large tunnels to access a hidden cove. There is a bustling high street with lots of shops, a cinema and restaurants.
Wildlife and Dinosaur Park, Combe Martin
Combe Martin is not only home to fantastic eateries such as the Pack 'o Cards pub, it is also the resident village of scary reptiles in the form of life-size dinosaur models and an animatronic T-rex. There are also less scary (but very real) animals - including lions, wolves, sea lions, penguins, meerkats and much more besides. There are also regular wildlife shows notably the Birds of Prey display. More can be found here.

If shopping is your thing then Atlantic Village is within an hour of the lodge by car. There are plenty of shops and a very good children's play area with a pirate ship outside.
